Now we know what the plan is, you can schedule your ongoing appointments at times that work best for you. We book ongoing times to ensure you have a regular spot each week, but you can cancel anytime or for short periods if you’re away, unwell or busy. We encourage you to stick to your therapy plan as much as possible, to ensure you get the most out of your therapy. If your preferred time isn’t available, we can put you on a waitlist and book you into your next preference in the meantime.

6. Approve Your Service Agreement

We’ll provide a Service Agreement outlining the terms, conditions, and fee schedule. It also sets out our commitments to you. Once approved and signed, we’re ready to begin your therapy program.

7. Join the Enable Community

You’re officially part of the Enable Community! From here, we’ll work together on your goals, supporting you to feel safe, strong, fit, and independent. You can connect with us on social media to keep up to date with all our news, updates and celebrations of our clients, attend social events with us, and join in activities like our footy tipping and City to Bay team.

8. Regular Program Reviews

Frequently Asked Questions

Please reach out to us at admin@enablefitnesscentre.com.au or on 08 8261 7537 if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Enable Fitness Centre is a specialised allied-health service, purpose-built to support people with functional impairments - whether physical or cognitive - due to disability, disease or ageing.

Our inclusive and fully accessible facilities and our expert clinicians are designed to meet the unique needs of people seeking to improve their function, capacity - and ultimately, quality of life.

Find out more about our inclusion criteria and exclusions here.

No. But we do need some details before we can get a new client started!

Our referral form (available on the 'Contact Us' page), can be completed by the client or any of their supports with access to their information.

We also require a medical summary from a medical practitioner to ensure proper exercise screening - essential for client safety.

No! All our services can be accessed with short lead times.

Once we have received a referral form with all your details, we are able to book an Initial Assessment within the next couple of weeks, depending on your availability. This is also subject to staff arrangements.

Yes! Our Exercise Physiologists, Physiotherapists and Dietitian can provide services in your home. We can also prepare a schedule of appointments with a combination of home visits and in-clinic sessions.

We charge for late cancellations and no shows in line with funding provisions.

Clients may cancel their service with more than the stipulated notice periods outlined below, and no fee will be charged. If the participant cancels the service within the notice periods outlined below, or no prior notice is provided, we will seek full payment for the cost of the service. However, when cancelled within the notice period, we provide the opportunity for the client to rebook their service at another available time during the week of the original appointment to avoid late cancellation charges.

  • NDIS notice period: 48 hours prior to the service (within NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Limits)
  • LSA notice period: 24 hours prior to the service (as per LSA guidelines)
  • RTWSA: notice periods do not apply
  • Other funding: as per NDIS notice period

We reserve the right to cancel all future services in the event of three (3) consecutive missed appointments with no contact from the client, and will attempt to notify the client, their alternative contact person and their support coordinator/referrer.

We are often asked "will NDIS fund a gym membership?". While the NDIS does not fund ‘memberships’, you can use your NDIS funding for gym-based therapy sessions at Enable Fitness Centre, as the NDIS funds therapy appointments with accredited clinicians. NDIS exercise physiology is our specialty!

Access to our accessible gyms and facilities is by appointment, with all sessions (individual and group) supervised by Accredited Exercise Physiologists. As such, therapy appointments with all our Exercise Physiologists are able to be claimed through the NDIS under the Capacity Building budget - designed to help individuals develop their skills, independence, and social participation - using funding from either of the below categories.

Even if you access our services through other funding options, or self-fund, we are not able to offer memberships or 'drop-ins' outside of scheduled appointments. This ensures we can maintain the safe and effective operation of our gym spaces, without overcrowding. Having appointment-based therapy means we can control the mix of gym users (taking into consideration risks and vulnerabilities), schedule based on equipment availability, provide clinical oversight for safety, and ensure car parking availability.
