Physiotherapy at Enable

Clinician assisting a woman with a disability with balance exercises on a trampoline at a gym.

Move safely, reduce pain, and regain confidence.

Physiotherapy at Enable supports safe, effective movement through targeted, task-specific therapy. We focus on improving how you move, reducing pain, and helping you safely complete everyday activities. Whether you're recovering from injury, managing a neurological condition, or noticing changes in your balance or mobility, our physiotherapists work with you to improve your movement and confidence.

Who is Physiotherapy for?

Physiotherapy is recommended for individuals who have difficulty moving safely or effectively due to pain, injury, disability or physical impairment.

You may benefit from seeing a physiotherapist if:

  • Walking is unsteady, uneven or requires support to stay safe
  • Difficulty getting in and out of bed, chairs or the car due to pain or reduced control
  • Feeling unsteady, dizzy or at risk of falling
  • Pain limits how you move or prevents completion of daily activities
  • Reduced coordination affects everyday tasks (e.g. dressing, eating, cooking)
  • Needing equipment to move independently (e.g. walker, wheelchair)
  • Recent injury, surgery or change in function affects how you move
  • Movement has become more difficult, unsafe or painful than usual

How we help

Our Physiotherapy service focuses on improving the quality, safety and efficiency of your movement so you can complete everyday tasks with greater ease and confidence.

We start with a detailed assessment of how you move, including walking, transfers (such as getting in and out of chairs or bed), balance, coordination, and any areas of pain or restriction. This helps us understand not just what is difficult—but why. From there, we deliver targeted, task-specific therapy designed to improve how your body moves in real-life situations.

Your treatment may include:

  • Activity-based and task-specific training to practise and improve coordination and the movements you find challenging (e.g. walking, stairs, transfers)
  • Adaptive reformer Pilates sessions focusing on core strength and flexibility
  • Gait training to improve walking pattern, safety and efficiency
  • Balance training to reduce falls risk and increase confidence
  • Hands-on treatment including massage and dry needling, to reduce pain, tension, stiffness or movement restriction
  • Equipment assessment and training, including walkers, wheelchairs or orthotics

At Enable, our physiotherapists provide targeted support across a range of specialised areas to improve movement, safety and independence.

  • Dizziness and balance: Assessment and treatment of dizziness and balance issues, including vestibular conditions, brain injury and concussion. We use techniques such as repositioning for vertigo, vestibular rehabilitation and balance training to reduce falls risk and improve confidence.
  • Upper limb function: Improving arm and hand use for everyday tasks like dressing, eating, writing and hobbies, through strengthening, coordination and task-specific training.
  • Skin and tissue management: Supporting healing and function following skin injuries, scars or grafts, with a focus on comfort, recovery and long-term outcomes.
  • Gait (walking) training: Improving walking pattern, safety and efficiency through gait retraining, including use of hydrotherapy (underwater treadmill) and assessment for supports such as AFOs.
  • Prosthetic training: Building confidence and skill using a lower limb prosthesis, including advanced prosthetics, with a focus on safe walking, fall prevention and everyday function.
